About

Sarah J. Hink is a partner of New Direction Family Law and has practiced family law exclusively since being licensed by the North Carolina Bar.

Sarah’s knowledge of the law, emphasis on communication, and her ability to empathize with clients while remaining calm, poised, and pragmatic serves her well in advocating for their best interests in both settlement negotiations and in court. A zealous advocate, Sarah ensures her clients find the stability and security needed to move forward in a positive direction. Sarah continues to raise the bar in the practice of family law with her dedication to her clients, professionalism, and advocacy skills both in and out of the court room. Her regular practice includes Wake and Durham Counties.

Sarah is also trained as a parenting coordinator. She has devoted her career to helping families involved in high-conflict custody cases navigate the legal process and difficult coparenting relationships. As a parenting coordinator, Sarah’s balance of patience and candidness serves to deescalate conflict, streamline communication, and keep the focus on the children.

Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University. After working in the legal field for two years following undergrad, Sarah was accepted at Campbell University School of Law. While at Campbell, Sarah participated in Wills for Heroes, a program which provides free estate planning documents for first responders, as well as the 50B Project, a joint effort with Legal Aid providing representation, under the supervision of licensed attorneys, for victims of domestic violence. Sarah still volunteers with the Legal Aid 50B project, now as an advisor to students. Sarah is a member of the Tenth Judicial District Bar, North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, Wake Women Attorneys, and the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys traveling to North Carolina’s mountains to visit her alma mater and to spend time hiking the blue ridge mountains as well as on North Carolina’s coast where, if the weather is right, you can find her fishing offshore with her father or catching a sunset. Sarah is a native of Raleigh, born and raised.  She is a strong advocate of supporting local businesses and charity organizations located in the triangle area, especially local animal rescues where she found her dogs Rosy and Junebug.
