While in New York, Sara worked as an Assistant District Attorney with the Bronx District Attorneys office where she focused primarily on domestic violence cases. Prior to joining New Direction Family Law, Sara regularly conducted divorce workshops for the Compass Center, an organization dedicated to providing services to victims of domestic violence in Orange County, NC. She has represented clients in a variety of family law cases and currently practices in Chatham, Durham, Orange, and Wake Counties.

Sara received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City where she served as a Staff Editor for the Cardozo Journal of International and Comparative Law. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Loretta A. Preska of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and for a former justice of the New York Supreme Court.

Prior to entering law school, Sara enjoyed a career as a free-lance violinist in the Chicago metropolitan area where she taught and performed regularly after receiving her bachelor’s in music from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN.

As a native of North Carolina, she is happy to be home and to be working in the vibrant triangle community. She is currently a member of the Wake County and North Carolina Bar Associations. In her downtime, she enjoys being outdoors with her husband and two children, playing music, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
