Professional Background
Katelyn Gallimore is a family law attorney serving clients in Wake County and throughout North Carolina. Her decision to practice family law was shaped by witnessing people close to her navigate the family court system and seeing how quickly they could feel overwhelmed and lose hope during an already difficult time.
Katelyn understands that family law matters often arise during some of the most vulnerable moments in a person’s life. Whether a client is facing a divorce, child custody dispute, or another family law matter, she is committed to helping clients understand their options and ensuring that their voices are heard throughout the legal process.
During law school, Katelyn gained valuable experience in North Carolina family law through her judicial clerkship with the Wake County Family Court and her various internships. These experiences gave her firsthand insight into the family court process and reinforced her desire to advocate for individuals and families navigating difficult legal circumstances.
Katelyn brings a thoughtful, compassionate, and determined approach to her work. She believes that clients deserve to feel heard, informed, and supported as they navigate the legal system.
Education and Credentials
Katelyn earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western Carolina University before attending Campbell University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor. During her time at Campbell University School of Law, she pursued her English LL.M. through Nottingham Trent University.
While at Campbell Law, Katelyn served as Senior Comments Editor for the Campbell Law Review and published a student comment titled, “A Call for North Carolina to Express Their Wishes in Child Custody Proceedings, A Given Right Established in Binding Precedent.” Her work on the article reflects her particular interest in child custody and the rights of families navigating North Carolina family court.
Katelyn also served as President of Women in Law during the 2025–2026 academic year and worked as a Teaching Scholar for Wills & Trusts, Business Organizations, and Criminal Procedure.
Her academic achievements include Book Awards in Contracts, Constitutional Law II, Community Law Clinic – Criminal, Secured Transactions, and Sales & Leases. She also received the Wake County Bar Association Foundation Scholarship Award, the NCAWA Sarah Parker Scholarship Award, and the Beverly Massey Women in Law Scholarship. Further, she received an award as The Outstanding Law Student from The National Association of Women Lawyers.
She is admitted to practice law in North Carolina.
Approach to Clients
Katelyn believes that one of the most important things a family lawyer can do is make sure a client knows their voice matters.
Family law cases can involve deeply personal issues, including relationships, children, finances, and major changes to a family’s future. Katelyn strives to provide clear guidance while helping clients understand the legal process and the options available to them.
Her goal is to help clients feel informed and supported as they move through their family law matter, whether they are dealing with divorce, child custody, or another family law concern.
Community Involvement
A Raleigh native, Katelyn grew up in a competitive family that loved sports. She participated in dance, basketball, and lacrosse growing up and remains a big sports fan today.
Outside of practicing law, Katelyn enjoys hot sculpt yoga, shopping, grabbing a matcha or coffee with friends, spending time with family, and watching sports. She also has a hidden musical talent: she can play the clarinet. Katelyn and her fiancé, Gavin, enjoy spending time together and supporting each other’s interests. Gavin is a blue-collar worker who also enjoys playing and coaching volleyball, particularly beach volleyball.
One quote that has stayed with Katelyn comes from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: “Whatever you choose to do, leave tracks. That means don’t do it just for yourself. You will want to leave the world a little better for your having lived.”
Katelyn brings that philosophy into her legal career, seeking to make a meaningful difference for the clients and families she serves.
