Yascis Romero
Legal Assistant
Professional Background
Yascis Romero brings a diverse and compassionate background to her role as a Legal Assistant. Originally from New York, she relocated to Raleigh in 2009 in search of a slower-paced lifestyle, and quickly found her place within the legal field. Though she began her academic journey at UNC Greensboro, her career path has been anything but linear—having held a real estate license, and currently holding a Notary Public license.
Yascis’s professional foundation is rooted in both real estate and sales, inspired in part by her mother, a successful realtor and business owner. Over time, she was drawn to the legal field by a calling to support individuals during difficult transitions. From simple divorces to complex adoptions, Yascis has handled a range of family law matters with care and precision. Her natural affinity for detail and her appreciation for methodical, paperwork-driven tasks makes her a steady, reliable presence on any case team.
Approach to Clients
Yascis is deeply empathetic and committed to providing meaningful support to clients navigating some of the most challenging moments in their lives. She believes in the importance of listening—not just to words, but to what a client may be trying to express beneath the surface. Her approach is grounded in mindfulness and compassion, always aiming to create a space where clients feel heard and understood.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Yascis takes pride in being able to connect with a broader community, helping to bridge communication gaps and foster trust. Whether offering emotional support or guiding clients through legal procedures, her goal is always to be a calming, consistent presence during turbulent times.
Community Involvement & Personal Interests
Yascis’s heart for service extends beyond the office. She has long been involved in music, having participated in school and church choirs, and continues to find joy in creative expression and community. An animal lover and freshwater aquarium hobbyist, she’s the proud caretaker of several pets—including an axolotl named Gabby (affectionately, Gabbalaharris).
She enjoys spending time outdoors gardening and doing yardwork, and when the sun goes down, she loves hitting the dance floor. A frequent traveler to Mexico and an avid student of mindfulness and meditation, Yascis brings a grounded, joyful energy to all areas of her life. She shares her home with her wife, their dog, and cat, and continues to find balance in her personal and professional life through intentional living and community connection.
