Professional Background
Carter Todd is a legal assistant at New Direction Family Law who prides herself on communicating empathetically and effectively with clients and assisting paralegals and attorneys with cases. While she was born in the triangle area, Carter largely grew up in Wisconsin before moving back to North Carolina for high school. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry from East Carolina University but felt a calling to branch away from science and explore the legal industry. Now vested in family law, Carter enjoys the fast-paced environment and helping clients navigate what can be such a difficult time.

Carter’s approach begins with kindness and empathy when speaking and meeting with clients. With a keen eye for detail and a positive, team-based approach, she understands that family law matters can be especially stressful, and she is diligent and conscientious in assisting clients with achieving their goals.
