Professional Background
Brittany Whaley is a paralegal at New Direction Family Law, known for her meticulous attention to detail and ability to keep clients organized during a stressful time. Her interest in the legal field began at a young age, inspired by her father’s stories from his career as a police officer. Born and raised in Wilson, North Carolina, Brittany moved to Raleigh in 2016 to attend North Carolina State University. She joined New Direction Family Law in 2017 as an intern and later became a legal assistant during her undergraduate studies. In 2020, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Law and Justice and a minor in Spanish.
Brittany’s experience in family law has strengthened her desire to pursue a career in the legal field, with a long-term goal of becoming an attorney specializing in children’s issues. As a paralegal, she takes pride in supporting clients from the small details and dates to preparing for big trials. Brittany is dedicated to helping clients feel organized, confident, and prepared as they navigate their legal journeys.

Community Involvement
Brittany’s connection to Raleigh goes beyond her work at New Direction Family Law. She has been an active volunteer as a SAFEChild young ambassador since 2021 and currently serves as a co-chair for the young ambassador group. Brittany is also an enthusiastic supporter of North Carolina State University’s Wolfpack football team and loves attending games and supporting her alma mater.
