Professional Background
Ashley L. Oldham is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Specialist in Family Law and a partner at New Direction Family Law. As a natural-born problem solver, Ashley has been helping clients navigate the complexities of separation and divorce since 2011. She believes in demystifying the process and empowering clients with the information they need to make informed decisions about their future.
Her regular practice covers a broad range of family law cases across the state of North Carolina, including but not limited to Wake, Harnett, Chatham, Orange, Durham, and Johnston Counties. Ashley’s approach is grounded in education and clear communication, ensuring that her clients understand their options and feel confident in the path forward.
Education and Credentials
Ashley is a North Carolina native who graduated cum laude from Elon University with a B.A. in Psychology and dual minors in Business Administration and Political Science. She then earned her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University, graduating in the top 10% of her class. She served as an editor for the Campbell Law Review during her time at Campbell.
Ashley is a North Carolina Board Certified Family Law Specialist and was named as a Rising Star by North Carolina Super Lawyers in 2020 and 2021. She has a perfect rating of 10 on Avvo, and has been selected by Best Lawyers as Ones to Watch in America for Family Law and Family Law: Arbitration and Mediation. Ashley has taught continuing legal education courses on issues of military divorce for various organizations including the North Carolina Bar Association, The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in Virginia, and the American Bar Association. She has also been published by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, Lexis Nexis, and Lawyer’s Mutual.
Ashley is a member of the Tenth Judicial District Bar, the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Family Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
