Professional Background
Jennifer “Jen” Bordeaux, believes that education is power. She is dedicated to spreading awareness about family law and ensuring that those going through divorce, custody disputes, or other family law matters feel empowered and supported. Born in Iowa but raised in Dunn, North Carolina, Jen considers herself a true North Carolinian. She holds a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University.
Jen’s professional journey began in the field of juvenile delinquency and working with at-risk youth in secure custody with the Department of Juvenile Justice. During her graduate studies and work with at-risk youth, she developed a keen interest in the cause and prevention of domestic violence and its multifaceted effects on family dynamics. She later became a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal after completing the NC Paralegal Certificate Program at the University of North Carolina.
As Director of Public Relations, Jen focuses on fostering connections, raising awareness, and providing resources for those in need. She believes in supporting people through difficult changes and guiding them toward a better future.

Jen’s approach is centered on education and community support. She is passionate about helping people understand their options during challenging times. Through her work at New Direction Family Law, she aims to make a powerful difference in the lives of clients and in the community. She ensures people don’t feel alone when going through divorce, custody, domestic violence, or other troubling circumstances.
Whether it’s collaborating with the firm’s legal teams, engaging in public relations initiatives, or giving back to the community, Jen is committed to making a positive impact. Through education and ongoing initiatives, Jen helps people reclaim their agency and love for life.
Community Involvement
Jen is deeply involved in the community, serving on the board of directors for SAFEchild, an organization dedicated to eliminating child abuse and empowering families. She also supports her alma mater, Appalachian State University, by serving on the Appalachian State Triangle Alumni Chapter board. Her community involvement reflects her commitment to helping others and building strong relationships.
