Carrie Parker, Paralegal
I am passionate about supporting clients and helping them survive legal proceedings to find new paths in life.
When asked to describe my home town of Courtland, VA in Southampton County, I usually say, in my best Southern woman drawl, “It makes Johnston County look like the big city.” I have resided in Johnston County for almost 21 years and graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I went on to teach kindergarten, first, and second grade for over 15 years, but after experiencing a bitter child custody battle, I was inspired to pursue a career as a family law paralegal and eventually obtained my NC State Bar Paralegal Certification in 2007. I am passionate about supporting clients and helping them survive legal proceedings and find new paths of life. Although my situation was not cordial after my own custody battle, I am happy to report that my ex-husband and I are currently on good terms and all of our children, Britt, Brad and Izzy, have good relationships with both of us. Personally and professionally witnessing the perseverance and strength that comes as a result of fighting for families, I am here to help you and tell you that you will get through your legal battle, and things will get better!
In her spare time Carrie enjoys retraining Off the Track Thoroughbreds on her small farm, fostering cats and kittens, spending time with her grown children, her dog, Buster and her horse, Tommy, and anything that is outdoors or requires a helmet.
